The Blue Coat Certified PacketShaper Administrator (BCPSA) 2 day introductory level course is intended for IT professionals who wish to develop their basic knowledge and skills to manage an installed Blue Coat PacketShaper on a daily basis. It is intended for users who want to apply new PacketShaper features that deliver integrated visibility, control and compression capabilities in a single appliance. After completing this course you will be able to:

- understand the functionality and features of the hardware and software platforms
- install a unit for a straight-forward deployment using basic parameters
- gain visibility into network applications and generate basic reports
- apply Classes, Partitions and Policies
- carry out essential administration and management

Note that the course concentrates on the use of the Legacy browser interface, but does explain and provide experience with the Sky interface.

 

Audience
This course is intended for IT professionals requiring basic operational network management knowledge and skills; i.e., network/system administrators and Level 1 support staff who are responsible for performing regular administrative tasks and configuration changes of a BlueCoat PacketShaper.

- This 2 day course is designed to explain ‘how’ to carry out configuration changes, if the changes have already been specified.

- The 3 day Professional course is designed to explain, ‘when’ changes should be made, and ‘what’ they should be.
