Offering fixed-configuration, virtual-chassis, and Terabit-chassis models, all running the same JUNOS software, the EX-series Ethernet switches deliver the network reliability, integrated security and access control that are essential to today's high-performance businesses.

Portfolio Update

EX2200-C Ethernet Switches

The EX2200-C is a highly compact, silent and power-efficient platform for low-density micro branch deployments and commercial access or enterprise workgroup environments outside the wiring closet. Featuring 12 10/100/1000BASE-T access ports in a fanless design, the EX2200-C switches deliver a powerful solution designed specifically for office, classroom, hospitality, and other space- and wiring-constrained environments. Two front panel dual-purpose (10/100/1000BASE-T or 100/1000BASE-X) uplinks provide operational flexibility.

EX3300 Ethernet Switches

The EX3300 line of Ethernet Switches features Virtual Chassis technology to deliver a flexible, cost-effective enterprise access solution for demanding environments that support converged data, voice, and video. Virtual Chassis technology enables up to six interconnected EX3300 switches to operate as a single, logical device, providing enterprises with a level of flexibility and management simplicity normally associated with higher-end access switches.

Multiple EX3300 options are available, offering 24 and 48 10/100/1000-T access ports and four dual mode (GbE/10GbE) SFP/SFP+ uplink ports, with or without support for standards-based IEEE 802.3af Class 3 Power Over Ethernet (PoE). PoE support enables the EX3300 to support networked devices such as telephones, video cameras, and wireless LAN (WLAN) access points. The EX3300 also supports the 802.3at PoE+ standard, offering additional power for devices such as multiple radio IEEE 802.11n wireless access points.

The EX3300 also offers data center-optimized cooling, with both front-to-back and back-to-front airflow options, making it suitable for GbE data center access deployments. A DC power supply option is also available.

All EX3300 models run the same modular Junos OS control plane feature implementation as other Juniper switches, routers and security devices, to provide a consistent set of features and capabilities across the Juniper network infrastructure.

EX6200 Ethernet Switches

The EX6200 line of Ethernet switches delivers a scalable, resilient and high-performance wiring closet solution for enterprise campus deployments. The EX6200 is also an ideal fit for data center access deployments using end-of-row designs.

The EX6210 is a 10-slot chassis designed to support a variety of highly flexible network configurations. Two of the slots hold Switch Fabric Routing Engine (SRE) modules, while the remaining eight slots are dedicated for I/O line cards. Optional configurations allow an additional line card to be housed in an SRE slot*, enabling users to choose between higher port densities or redundant SREs.

Two EX6200 48-port 10/1000/1000BASE-T line cards are available, with and without support for the IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) standard. PoE provides 15.4 watts per port for powering networked devices such as telephones, video cameras, multiple radio IEEE 802.11n wireless LAN (WLAN) access points and video phones in converged network environments. The PoE line card also supports the IEEE 802.3at PoE+ standard, which delivers up to 30 watts of power per port for devices that require more than the 15.4 watts provided by PoE.

At just 14 rack-units (U) high, a single EX6200 chassis can support up to 432 PoE+ ports, delivering the industry's densest PoE+ solution in its form factor class.

Overview

High-performance businesses understand the importance of high-performance networks. The EX-series Ethernet switches from Juniper Networks deliver such a solution, offering an innovative alternative to the cost and complexity of maintaining legacy switched networks.

Designed specifically for high-performance businesses, the EX-series Ethernet switches allow companies to grow their networks at their own pace, minimizing large up-front investments. The EX-series switches provide the carrier-class reliability, security risk management, virtualization, application control and lower total cost of ownership (TCO) that businesses need today while allowing them to scale in an economically sensible way for years to come.

Features and Benefits

The Juniper Networks EX 3200, EX 4200, and EX 8200 series Ethernet switches advance the economics of networking with five key areas of innovation that, working together, deliver a truly high-performance solution.

Carrier-Class Reliability: Juniper Networks EX-series Ethernet switches leverage the same field-tested Juniper technology-including high-performance ASICs, a carrier-class system architecture and JUNOSTM software-that powers the world's largest service provider networks. The result is a robust, proven and highly reliable network infrastructure.

Security Risk Management: Juniper EX-series Ethernet switches tightly integrate with the Juniper Unified Access Control (UAC) solution to deliver granular access control and usage policy based on user identity, device and location.

Virtualization: The EX 4200 series switches feature Juniper Virtual ChassisTM technology, which enables up to 10 EX 4200 switches to be interconnected and operate as a single, logical system. With Virtual Chassis technology, users get the reliability, performance, manageability and high-port densities of traditional chassis-based systems in a cost-effective, compact form factor.

Application Control: To ensure application traffic is properly prioritized, the entire EX-series Ethernet switches support eight QoS queues per port-more than enough to establish separate queues for control plane, voice, video and multiple levels of data traffic, with room to converge other networks such as building automation and security cameras.

Lower TCO: The high-performance, high-density EX-series lets users start small and grow incrementally. Leveraging a common version of the JUNOS software across Juniper routers and switches ensures consistency throughout the infrastructure and accelerates the learning curve. Unified management tools consolidate system monitoring and maintenance, saving time and money.
